About this speaker
Ashley Wells is a doctoral student in American Studies & Culture at Washington State University. Her research revolves around evaluating mental health disparities for Black American women through the intersection of the Black church. She received her Bachelor's degree in English Literature from Binghamton University, a master's degree in Creative Writing from Dartmouth College, and a master's degree in American Studies from Columbia University.
Outside of her research endeavors, she is a co-founder of The Prosp(a)rity Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to leveling the socioeconomic playing field for populations most susceptible to and impacted by predatory lending. In addition, she is the Founder & outgoing President of the Graduate Women of Color Alliance at Washington State University.
